TECHNICAL STAFF
Costume Assistants
We are currently looking to recruit 2 Costume assistants.
Pay Bracket: £550 per week, plus per diems. Taxable at source.
Start date on site in Norfolk 13th Sept – 8th Nov, with additional London fitting days prior to start date on 26th/27th Aug, 2nd/3rd Sept, 9th/10th Sept
The role:
Help with the set-up period prior to the show’s opening. Dates are inclusive of rehearsals, photo shoots, technical rehearsals and dress rehearsals. A basic outline of the duties undertaken throughout your time with us would be:

Assisting with fitting weekends

Complete all alterations necessary prior to show opening

Ensure all costumes and costume items are labelled

Complete interim fittings
-
Organise dressing rooms
-
Set up backstage areas
-
Assist backstage with photo calls
-
Complete alterations and fixes during technical and dress rehearsals
We are looking for people who will merge well with our existing team, have a good knowledge of how theatre works, and can work quickly and accurately. It will be necessary to have good sewing skills, consisting of good hand sewing skills, proficient use of a domestic sewing machine and overlocker, some knowledge of industrial sewing machines and overlockers would also be desirable, but not necessary. As the location is remote, it would be beneficial if you had the ability to drive and access to a car.

Wardrobe Staff:
We are also always interested to hear from people interested in the Running Wardrobe department. Seasonally extra people are employed as laundry and maintenance staff, operating industrial washing machines, driers and a dry cleaning unit.

Student Placements:
Applicants need to be studying at a recognized, approved institute. Placements of 2 to 3 weeks have been available in the past, in both the Costume and Lighting Departments. You can apply here for the 2023 season.
